This self-assembly paper model of the magnificent Somerville College Library was commissioned by the college as a fun give-away to welcome visitors and new students.
After working on an illustration of the building I worked out a net that was simple enough to be quick to assemble without needing glue. The final version was printed to fit A4 size and the edges perforated so it could be easily removed.
We went through a few different options for the net including a more complicated version which indented the frontages but in the end it proved much too fiddly to fold!
The final design went down very well with the students and visitors.
