A set of 12 interpretation panels as part of the Sacred Space project around the Wrexham area.
I created the initial board design as well as the maps and illustrations for this project, and a fair bit of the photography.
The board design was a challenge as there was a great deal of information to get on each board – in two languages. Plenty to hold the visitor’s attention though! The content ranged from flowers, trees, fauna to notable graves and some included a potted history of the church itself. Each churchyard had its own leaflet in the same style with further information about the other churchyards in the project.
I was particularly pleased with the visual calendar to show when certain flowers were visible.
The shaped board added interest and the mock 3D elements – the butterfly, bee and ivy – added a sense of depth and echoed the overgrown nature of the churchyard.
